And He Broke It

Jesus took the Bread and He broke it

He broke the Bread of my haste, the bread of my affliction

Bread of Affliction , the bread of what ails me, the curse, illness etc…

He used the breaking of the Bread to symbolize many things, including…

The breaking of the curse, and

The breaking of the enemys power

As Jesus broke the Bread, He was giving us a picture of the Words the Creator spoke in the Garden after the Fall.

Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (KJV)

John Wesley put it this way…

…Destroyed and ruined at last by the great Redeemer, signified by the bruising of his head; his subtle politics shall be all baffled, his usurped power entirely crushed….

When the Bread is broken during Communion, we are witness to and in agreement with the destruction of the curse and the removal of power from the enemy for every believer by Jesus.

More about the Broken Bread next time.
