The night He was betrayed…
But before that, before His betrayal
They were Celebrating the Passover.
Passover is the “passing over” of the angel of death over the House of Israel, the Children of God.
Death stopped, and was prevented from entering the abode or harming any/ all who had the Blood of the Lamb on their doorposts.
Death was prevented from touching those who were eating of the Lamb.
The Blood on the Door and the Meat Israel ate that night were from the same sacrifice, the same Lamb.
Jesus and His disciples were celebrating the Passover, not the exodus but the Passover. The exodus would come after the Passover, after death was not allowed to touch them.
It is a part of the REMEMBERING/ speaking that we do when we take Communion, the Bread and Wine which become something else as we think about and speak of Jesus and His Truth.
Good News! Death and destruction has no part of us in the New Creation that we are in Christ Jesus!
Shine On! Laurie
